Homemade businesses
Cakes, frozen food, pitha, pickles, meals and crafts: what you make, made to order, delivery.
Aiyaar has a kind of business for things you make at home and sell online: cakes, frozen food, pitha, sweets, pickles, home-cooked meals, snacks, spices, handicrafts, handmade soap and handmade clothing. You tell Aiyaar what you make, and your dashboard is set up for it.
Choose Homemade and what you make
- On the sign-up page, choose Homemade as your kind of business. You can also type a word such as "pitha", "cake" or "achar" in the search box to find it.
- Under What do you make?, tap everything you make. Several are fine, for example Cakes & bakes and Pitha. You must pick at least one.
- Tap Continue and finish signing up as usual. See Create your account.
Your product categories start with only what you picked, plus Custom Orders. So the POS, your products and your online store menu show only those.

Fields made for homemade goods
When you add a product, these fields are ready:
- Made to order: tick it when you make the item after the order comes in.
- Order ahead: how many hours before customers must order, for example 24 for a cake.
- Keeps for: for example "3 days in the fridge".
- Store in: Room temperature, Fridge or Freezer.
- Ingredients, Eggless and Spice level.
- Size and Flavour as variants, each with its own price, for example a chocolate cake in 0.5 kg, 1 kg and 2 kg.
Shoppers see these on the product page in your online store.
Units include piece, kg and g, litre, box, pack, dozen, jar and plate. Sweets, spices and loose snacks can be sold by weight.
A one-page ordering store
The Ghorer Swad template is made for homemade businesses. Open Online store → Templates and press Preview to see it with your own products.
It starts with a warm banner with your own food photo, then your whole menu on one page: a category bar, a search, − and + on every item and the order total at the bottom. Categories with no products are left out. See Store design.
Frozen food and pickles: made-on and use-by dates
Batches and expiry dates are on for homemade businesses. Give each batch of frozen samosas or a jar of pickle a use-by date, and Aiyaar sells the oldest first and warns you before it runs out of date. See Batches and expiry.
Orders and delivery
Most homemade businesses sell online and by phone:
- Your store takes orders with bKash or cash on delivery. See Payments and delivery charges.
- A customer can add a note to an order, for example the message for a birthday cake.
- Hand orders to a rider, or deliver them yourself. See Delivery and riders.
The POS is there too, for a fair, a stall or a customer who comes to your door. See Sell with the POS.
